It is a major cell adhesive glycoprotein and is a common component of extracellular matrices and plasma. It competes effectively with other plasma proteins for binding to cells, and is often involved in cell attachment, regulation of blood coagulation and immune responses. Trevigen's Bovine vitronectin polyclonal antibody can be used in ELISAs, and for localizing vitronectin in frozen and formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissues by immunofluorescence.
