PARP inhibition prevents tissue damage in animal models of myocardial and neuronal ischemia, diabetes, septic shock, and vascular stroke. Our regular grade PARP is useful as a positive control for both Western blot analysis of ribosylated proteins and the study of PARP inhibitors. Unit Definition: One unit of PARP incorporates 10 fmoles of poly(ADP-ribose) from NAD onto 5 µg of immobilized histone proteins in 30 minutes at 22°C in a 96-well plate format.   Source: Partially purified from E. coli containing a recombinant plasmid harboring the human PARP gene.
